The JIS Volume 15, Issue 10 (2025) brings together ten original research articles that explore the diverse realities of international student life worldwide. The studies address a wide range of themes, including the influence of family and culture on Chinese and Indian STEM doctoral students in the United States, the silent language of intercultural friendships in China, justice-oriented approaches to global tourism education, and decision-making strategies of students entering Japanese universities. Additional contributions examine the challenges and coping strategies of international students during COVID-19, African graduate students’ perceptions of mentorship, student engagement and success in higher education, interdisciplinary teaching practices, motivations of Cambodian and Thai students studying in Indonesia, and a systematic review of risk and protective factors related to depressive symptoms in international student populations. Together, these works offer fresh insights into the intersections of culture, belonging, mental health, and academic success.

This issue features the contributions of 32 authors from 15 institutions across 9 countries: the United States, China, Thailand, Japan, Australia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The wide geographical scope and institutional representation highlight the global nature of international student research and the shared challenges and opportunities across different contexts.
