Special Issue on “Black Lives Matter: Scholars’ Perspectives”

Black lives matter is not just a slogan. It is a movement to establish Black people’s equal rights as they are oppressed and dominated by the financially and politically advantaged groups. Systematic racism is the root cause of these discriminations. People across the globe are now on the streets supporting the movement to eliminate discrimination. We can see people from different racial groups, ages, nationalities, and ethnicities express solidarity to this movement. However, only protesting on the streets is not enough to serve the purpose. People need to be informed about it.  So, for eliminating social injustice and inequality, knowledge is the most powerful weapon. As educators and scholars, we have an obligation to produce knowledge to enhance people’s understanding of equality and social justice. On this backdrop, this special issue is looking for the contribution from scholars and researchers.
