Featuring 22 authors from multiple institutions across 9 countries—Canada, India, Japan, Türkiye, South Africa, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines, this special issue of the Journal of International Students (Vol. 16, No. 8, 2026) explores the theme “Reimagining Inclusive Futures in Global Education.” The articles examine how higher education systems and practices are evolving to support more equitable and inclusive experiences for internationally mobile students and scholars. Addressing topics such as intersectional inequities, national internationalization strategies, cultural awareness and virtual exchange, teacher identity in internationalized classrooms, student well-being and loneliness, academic adjustment, language policy, and digital student communities, the contributions collectively highlight the need to move beyond traditional models of internationalization.
