JCIHE Open Position Announcement: Communications Editor
The Higher Education Special Interest Group (HESIG) of the Comparative and International Education Society publishes the Journal of Comparative & International Higher Education (JCIHE). JCIHE is published three times a year (Spring, Fall, and Winter). JCIHE is one way in which the HESIG is fulfilling its mission to serve as a networking hub for promoting scholarship opportunities, critical dialogue, and linking professionals and academics to the international aspects of higher education.
The JCIHE editorial team is made up of an Editor-in-Chief, a Senior Editor, a Managing Editor, a Communications Editor, and two Executive Editors. Each holds a three-year term, renewable for up to three terms. JCIHE is currently seeking volunteer for Communications Editor.
The Communications Editor is responsible for the marketing and distribution of the journal. The prime responsibility of the Communications Editor is to ensure that the journal is being distributed on a regular basis and to a wide audience who would benefit from the mission of the HESIG. The Communications Editor is responsible for cultivating new relationships that support a wider distribution of the journal, which includes representing JCIHE at relevant conferences. The Communications Editor may also serve as a peer reviewer.
The Communications Editor must be a member in good standing of the HESIG. Ideally the Communications Editor has experience with communicating and marketing, including social media, listservs, website development and maintenance, and email marketing campaigns. The Communications Editor should have a graduate degree related to comparative and international higher education.
